Job Overview

As the Outdoor Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a variety of outdoor activities and programs for our guests. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about the outdoors, enjoys working with people, and has a knack for creating engaging and memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activity Planning: Develop and schedule a range of outdoor activities for guests of all ages, including guided hikes, nature walks, campfire storytelling, river exploration, and more. Tailor activities to meet the interests and skill levels of participants.
  • Guided Tours: Lead and supervise guided tours and outdoor adventures, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. Provide educational and entertaining commentary during activities.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the use, maintenance, and inventory of activity equipment, such as hiking gear, water sports equipment, and safety supplies. Ensure all equipment is in good condition and available for guest use.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols during all activities. Monitor weather conditions and make adjustments to plans as needed to ensure guest safety.
  • Guest Engagement: Interact with guests to promote activities, answer questions, and provide recommendations based on their interests. Encourage participation and ensure all guests feel included and engaged.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to coordinate activities with other services, such as catering for events or special requests. Assist in training and mentoring new team members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in outdoor education, recreation, or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse group of guests.
  • Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and geography is a plus.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid and wilderness first aid is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
